Volunteer Wellington hosts the Mahi Aroha Awards – which is our chance to recognise and celebrate volunteers and volunteering in our community.

Why nominate?

Volunteer Wellington Mahi Aroha Awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognise the contribution and achievements of outstanding volunteers.

Who can you nominate?

You can nominate an individual volunteer, a Board/committee and an employee team volunteering for a Volunteer Wellington community member organisation.

Who can make a nomination?

Any Volunteer Wellington member organisation in the region can nominate.

How do you nominate?

Nominations are completed online and open from 08 April 2021.

The nomination forms allow you to enter information. Do not use any formatting or coloured text as this will be removed by our system.

Once you enter the text you can save it by pressing the button at the bottom of the edit screen. You can then return to the nomination entry at anytime and continue editing it.

Submitting your nomination

Please check that you have completed the information in the nomination correctly before submitting it. Once submitted you will not be able to change it.


Images of the nominees can be added to the nomination form. They must be either JPG or PNG format, clear and suitable for print and be at least 1mb in size. If you cannot attach your imagine before submitting, it must be emailed to before the close of nominations on May 21st 2021.
