Sailing and Safety Crew - Lower Hutt

Sailability Wellington is an inclusive sailing club for people with disabilities. Each sailor can participate in activities that match their personal interest and capability. We have 27 specially designed Hansa yachts and 3 support boats and operate with strict safety protocols.

We are looking for reliable crew members who can turn up on a regular basis to make a difference in people's lives. We have a range of roles include rigging (and de-rigging) boats, welcoming sailors, fitting lifejackets, helping people in and out of boats, sailing with clients and helping with lunch. Sailing experience is welcome but not essential.

This role is not available for short term mandated Community Work Experience.

Driving Practice for Women - Lower Hutt

Changemakers aims to help women from refugee backgrounds to get their driver's licence. Being able to learn to drive is crucial to access work and education, and support their greater participation in their wider communities and longer term goals of independence. However, many women don't have the support they need to get their licence, including a mentor to practice with. Which is why we need your help!

We're looking for calm and confident female volunteers who can take women from a refugee background community out for driving practice once or twice a week. Support and guidance will be given by the driving instructor who first train the women and the programme coordinator.

In return, you will make a positive difference in the life of woman from a refugee background and her family, increase your understanding of another culture and contribute to improving driver safety on the road.

Volunteer Lawyer - Te Awa Kairangi

Volunteering at Community Law is an opportunity to learn about strategies for social change and connect with other people who care about justice.   • Tenancy
  • Criminal Law
