At Land Information Freehold Education (LIFE) Trust, the Toi Whakapapa programme uses personal storytelling and creativity to connect rangatahi to their whakapapa and sense of belonging. Visual art is central to making this learning experience engaging and culturally rich for students across different year groups.

This volunteer opportunity is open to a Māori artist who can create age-appropriate artworks based on five core family traditions (the family tree, parents' homes, kitchens, backyards, and letterboxes) for students aged 7 to 9, 11 to 12, and 13 to 18. Artworks will be used in both in-person and online learning environments, with sessions on Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm and additional independent work time.
