Empowering Rangatahi Through Volunteering

Youth Impact is a dynamic initiative powered by Volunteer Wellington, designed to engage and empower young people (aged 14-24) through meaningful volunteer opportunities.

About Youth Impact

We are often approached by rangatahi looking to volunteer, and 53% of those who sought volunteer opportunities through Volunteer Wellington in 2025 were under the age of 30.

The Youth Impact programme began as a pathway for young people to find volunteering opportunities through other young people. It has evolved over time and now has three youth leads driving it. The focus now is on working with community groups to help shape more inclusive volunteer opportunities for young people.
