IHC is New Zealand's leading provider of services for people with intellectual disabilities, advocating for their rights, inclusion and welfare so they can lead satisfying lives in the community. Through IHC's volunteer friendship programme, people with shared interests are matched to spend time together.

This volunteer opportunity involves spending time with a young man in the Roseneath-Melrose area who enjoys classic Disney animation, drawing and art, playing Disney music on the piano, bowling, being outside, basketball, Dragon Ball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh. He uses some sign language and Makaton, so patience and support with communication are important. Visits take place over weekend outings.

What you'll bring:

• Willingness to complete IHC's induction and orientation programme
