SuperGrans Charitable Trust supports families to build practical life skills, manage their household, and develop the confidence and capability to thrive independently. Through programmes like Skills2Live (for families with children) and Whānau Connect (babies and toddlers), experienced mentors walk alongside families through the everyday challenges of life.
This volunteer opportunity involves being matched with a family in the Hutt Valley and sharing life skills, practical knowledge, and experience across areas such as home management, cooking, budgeting, and positive parenting practices. Community Mentors give families the tools to make positive changes at their own pace. Sessions typically run weekly.
What you'll bring:
• Life experience and practical homemaking or parenting skills to share
• Genuine empathy and a non-judgmental approach
• Reliability and commitment to a family over time
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Warm, patient, and genuinely motivated by empowering others
• A natural mentor who enjoys walking alongside people at their own pace
• Consistent and supportive across the length of the programme
Training Provided: Full induction and ongoing support provided by SuperGrans.
