Porirua
SuperGrans Charitable Trust supports families to build the practical life skills and confidence they need to thrive independently, through warm and sustained mentoring relationships. The Skills2Live and Whānau Connect programmes provide hands-on, practical support that creates lasting positive change for whānau.
This volunteer opportunity involves being matched with a family in the Porirua area and visiting regularly to share life skills and practical knowledge in areas such as home management, cooking, budgeting, and positive parenting, working at the family's own pace over the programme period.
What you'll bring:
• Practical homemaking, parenting, or life management skills
• Warmth, patience, and genuine interest in supporting families
• Reliability and commitment to a long-term mentoring relationship
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Empathetic, non-judgmental, and comfortable building trust
• Motivated by giving families a real hand up, not a handout
• Culturally aware and respectful of diverse backgrounds
Training Provided: Full induction and ongoing support provided by SuperGrans.
