Blind Low Vision NZ provides emotional and practical support so that people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision can keep working and living independently, empowering them to live the life they choose. In the Eastern Suburbs of Wellington, having a reliable volunteer driver makes it possible for members to get to and from their regular recreation and social activities.

This volunteer opportunity involves picking up and dropping off clients from their homes, supporting them during the activity to ensure they feel safe and included, and helping create a welcoming environment. It's a Monday and/or Wednesday morning commitment, with flexibility to help out on other days when needed. Petrol is reimbursed at $0.79 per km, with full training and ongoing support from the BLVNZ team provided.

What you'll bring:
• A full, clean driver's licence
• Willingness to complete BLVNZ's registration and onboarding process as well as training in Human Guiding, disability awareness and more

You might be a great fit if you are:
• Friendly, welcoming, organised and reliable
• Comfortable assisting people with low or no vision

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
