Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne is a 225-hectare, fully fenced ecosanctuary where many of Aotearoa New Zealand's rarest native species thrive in a predator-free environment. Supported by over 500 volunteers, we're working towards a 500-year vision to restore nature and transform how people live with it.

Maintaining a clear, low-grass fenceline around the perimeter is essential for fire prevention and the long-term integrity of the sanctuary fence, and the Fenceline Grass Management team makes this important work possible every week.

This volunteer opportunity involves joining the Fenceline Grass Management team to keep grass low along the sanctuary's perimeter using a scrub cutter or weed trimmer. We are looking for volunteers to work together every Sunday from 9am to 1pm. This is practical, outdoor mahi in a beautiful natural setting alongside others who share a passion for conservation.

As with most volunteer roles at Zealandia, we are looking for people who can commit to volunteering regularly for at least six months.

What you'll bring:

• Physical fitness for outdoor grounds maintenance work
• Reliability for weekly or fortnightly Sunday morning sessions
