Zealandia (Karori Sanctuary Trust) is Wellington's renowned urban wildlife sanctuary, home to some of New Zealand's rarest native species. Maintaining a clear, low-grass fenceline around the perimeter is essential for fire prevention and the long-term integrity of the sanctuary fence, and the Fenceline Grass Management team makes this important work possible every week.

This volunteer opportunity involves joining the Fenceline Grass Management team to keep grass low along the sanctuary's perimeter using a scrub cutter or weed trimmer. Volunteers work together every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm. This is practical, outdoor mahi in a beautiful natural setting alongside others who share a passion for conservation.
