Food Rescue Admin Volunteer
Kiwi Community Assistance (KCA) rescues surplus food and household goods and redistributes them to around 90 frontline agencies across the Greater Wellington region, working to reduce inequality in our communities.
This volunteer opportunity involves covering backup admin shifts as needed, riding as a passenger in the chiller truck, sorting and boxing food from supermarkets, checking use-by and best-before dates, weighing donations, uploading photos to Facebook via a KCA smartphone, and contacting foodbanks when returning to base. Shifts run Monday to Thursday, 7.45am to 1.45pm.
What you'll bring:
• Good communication skills and comfort using a smartphone
• Ability to lift up to 15kg
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Reliable, flexible and community-minded
• Happy to step in as backup cover when needed
Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
