At Land Information Freehold Education (LIFE) Trust (Charitable Trust Registration: CC6335), we use Toi Whakapapa and personal stories — memories, art, family trees, parents’ homes, kitchens, backyards and letterboxes — to secure tino rangatiratanga (self-determination).

The LIFE Trust is developing an Art Bus Initiative, a mobile classroom that will visit schools across New Zealand to teach cultural heritage through hands-on creative activities. Securing financial support is critical to bringing this vision to life.

We are currently seeking a Fundraiser to help us secure the resources the initiative needs to grow.

Tasks include:

• Looking for sponsorship and grant opportunities for the Art Bus Initiative
• Building relationships with potential investors and stakeholders in New Zealand and overseas
• Sharing the Trust’s mission

Special Skills Required:

• Experience in fundraising, sponsorship or business development
• Strong networking and stakeholder relationship skills
• The ability to present a compelling vision to varied audiences
• Confidence using common business tools such as email, online meeting platforms and document-sharing software
• Comfort working in New Zealand workplace and community settings, with an awareness of te ao Māori and local cultural and social practices

Expected Personality: Confident, persistent and motivated by a worthwhile cause. Good at quickly opening doors and building relationships. Passionate about Māori education and cultural heritage.

Days, Hours for Role: About four hours per week over several months, for as long as the initiative runs.

Training Provided: The LIFE Trust team will provide organisational context and programme information.
