Riding for the Disabled provides interaction with horses to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people experiencing disability, illness, or injury. At the Hutt Valley Riding for the Disabled centre, volunteers help ensure that disabled children and young adults can access transformative equine-assisted experiences.

This volunteer opportunity involves leading horses and providing physical and moral support to disabled riders during sessions, with some horse grooming also included. Sessions run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during school terms. Some experience with horses is preferred, and a current police check is required.
