Blind Low Vision NZ provides emotional and practical support so that people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision can keep working and living independently, empowering them to live the life they choose. Members living in Lower and Upper Hutt rely on volunteer drivers to get to their regular Indoor Bowls sessions and other group activities.
This volunteer opportunity involves driving members to and from weekly Indoor Bowls in Upper Hutt on Mondays and/or Lower Hutt on Thursdays, and supporting them at other social activities as needed. Petrol is reimbursed at $0.79 per km, with full training and ongoing support from the BLVNZ team.
What you'll bring:
• A full, clean driver's licence
• Willingness to complete BLVNZ's Human Guiding and disability awareness training
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Friendly, welcoming, organised and reliable
• Comfortable assisting people with low or no vision
Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
