The Land Information Freehold Education (LIFE) Trust uses Toi Whakapapa and personal storytelling — memories, art, family trees, and the stories held in backyards and kitchens — to help people explore their relationship to whanau and whenua, fostering belonging and empowering future generations.

This volunteer opportunity involves identifying and recruiting kaiako, tutors or practitioners to lead kapa haka sessions, developing a sustainable plan for the initiative's ongoing leadership, mentoring kaiako to ensure sessions are delivered safely and in line with tikanga, and liaising with the project team and Kaumatua. It involves a weekly project team meeting on Wednesdays, 11am-1pm in central Wellington, plus flexible individual task time.

What you'll bring:
• A teaching background and experience as a kapa haka performer, tutor or leader
• A strong understanding of tikanga and kaupapa relating to kapa haka and te ao Maori
