Are you great at sparking conversation and connecting with other parents?

Plunket in the Neighbourhood (PIN) groups are friendly, casual gatherings for parents and caregivers to meet, chat and support each other. We’re looking for volunteer hosts to create a welcoming space where whānau feel comfortable, supported and seen.

Commitment:

  • Weekly, during school terms: 1–2:30pm Mondays, plus set up/pack down time

Duties include:

  • Welcome whānau to the session
  • Foster a relaxed, inclusive vibe
  • Encourage kōrero and connection
  • Be a friendly, reliable presence

What you’ll bring:

  • A passion for supporting new parents
  • Ability to communicate with aroha and empathy
  • Reliability and good timekeeping

You might be a great fit if you are:

  • Warm, friendly, and community-minded
  • Keen to be part of a team of volunteers who value helping parents feel seen, heard, and connected
  • Confident speaking to groups and have a strong command of spoken English

Why you’ll love it:

  • Meet and support local whānau
  • Gain facilitation and community-building experience
  • Add experience to your CV
  • Opportunity to volunteer with your pēpi

Requirements:

  • Two satisfactory references
  • Police check

Plunket follow a pro-equity approach grounded in Te Tiriti, and we’re committed to building a diverse team of volunteers that reflects our community.
