Vulnerable Support Charitable Trust operates a mobile support unit on Courtenay Place in Wellington, providing a safe and welcoming space for people during late-night hours when vulnerability and risk are at their highest. The organisation believes that a caring, non-judgmental presence in the right place at the right time genuinely saves lives.
This volunteer opportunity involves joining the Prevention Support Team on Friday and Saturday nights from 9:30pm to 4:30am, welcoming visitors to the mobile unit on Courtenay Place and providing water, phone charging, a safe space, and warm, positive interaction. Volunteers also support anyone who is feeling vulnerable, lost, or in need of help to access travel assistance, medical support, or simply a kind conversation. A team leader is always present, and full training and tools are provided before you start.

• Confident in making decisions with team support in challenging situations
• Committed to making Wellington a safer, more welcoming city
