Prison Programme Support in Wellington
Hutt
Freedom Philosophy Society is a charitable, volunteer-run organisation delivering innovative philosophy courses into New Zealand's prisons, drawing wisdom from philosophers East and West and distilling it into short, practical courses that support inner healing and self-responsibility.
This volunteer opportunity involves helping deliver holistic prison programmes in Wellington, walking alongside participants on their path of healing and freedom. It's ideally a 3-4 hour per week commitment on weekdays, attending scheduled prison sessions, with a minimum commitment of 6 months for consistency. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided.
What you'll bring:
• A supportive, non-judgmental presence
• Willingness to commit to at least 6 months
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Calm, emotionally grounded and philosophically curious
• An excellent listener who values discretion and consistency
Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
