Blind Low Vision NZ provides emotional and practical support so that people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision can keep working and living independently. In and around Wellington, BLVNZ runs a range of recreation and social activities — from tandem cycling and indoor bowls to a walking group and youth group — that rely on volunteers to help them run smoothly.

This volunteer opportunity involves supporting members during activities such as Tandem Cycling, Integrated Football, the Wellington Walking Group, Keep Fit, Youth Group and Indoor Bowls. Tasks include admin support and helping to coordinate the session, all while creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Time commitment depends on the activity, with full training and ongoing support from the BLVNZ team provided.

What you'll bring:
• Energy and reliability
• Willingness to complete BLVNZ's registration and onboarding process as well as training in Human Guiding, disability awareness and more.

You might be a great fit if you are:
• Friendly, welcoming and organised
• Enthusiastic about recreation and community activities
• Comfortable assisting people with low or no vision

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
