Refugee Support Volunteer - Lower Hutt

New Zealand Red Cross (Rīpeka Whero Aotearoa) is a humanitarian organisation dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity. The Refugee Support Volunteer (RSV) programme provides practical, friendly support to former refugee families as they settle into their new lives in Lower Hutt.
This volunteer opportunity involves joining a small RSV team to assist a former refugee family with practical tasks as they settle in Lower Hutt. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided.
Time commitment: The typical commitment is one to four hours per week, spread flexibly across the week, with a higher commitment expected during the family's initial three weeks.
What you'll need:
- New Zealand Police vetting - support services (child/youth)
- Two referees for character checks
- Minimum age of 18 years to apply for this role
Training Provided: Comprehensive training will be provided (approximately 8 hours). You must complete this training before starting the role.
