Share a hobby with someone with an intellectual disability!
Hutt
IHC is New Zealand's leading provider of services for people with intellectual disabilities, advocating for their rights, inclusion and welfare so they can lead satisfying lives in the community. Through IHC's volunteer friendship programme, people with shared interests are matched to spend time together.
This volunteer opportunity involves spending time with a man in Upper Hutt who has an intellectual disability and enjoys listening to music, going to church, Disney toys, playing the drums, Roblox, bowling, disco parties, cafes, the library, Doctor Who, board games and arts and crafts. He's available any time on Saturdays, and afternoons or evenings on other days.
What you'll bring:
• An interest in shared hobbies and relaxed outings
• Willingness to complete IHC's induction and orientation programme
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Kind, patient and easy-going
• Available on Saturdays or weekday afternoons/evenings
Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
