Sunday Food Rescue - Driver or Food Sorter & Admin
Kiwi Community Assistance (KCA) rescues surplus food and household goods and redistributes them to around 90 frontline agencies across the Greater Wellington region, working to reduce inequality in our communities.
This volunteer opportunity involves joining the Sunday food rescue team in either a driving or sorting/admin capacity — driving the chiller truck or sorting and boxing donated food, checking use-by and best-before dates, weighing rescued food, photographing collections for Facebook, and checking in at stores via the Woolworths App. It runs once a month, departing around 8.30am and returning by approximately 11.30am.
What you'll bring:
• A full, clean driver's licence if driving (must be 25+); the sorter/admin role is open from age 16
• Ability to lift up to 15kg
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Caring, cooperative and community-minded
• Available one Sunday morning a month
Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
