Hutt City Council is committed to building a connected and inclusive community across Lower Hutt. Supporting te reo Māori learning in community spaces is part of this vision, and this opportunity welcomes both fluent speakers and those currently on their own learning journey.

This volunteer opportunity is open to fluent te reo Māori speakers who could lead a class, as well as learners who would like to facilitate a conversation group to support others. All details, including times and location, are worked out with the community centre. The time commitment is fully flexible.

What you'll bring:
• Fluency in te reo Māori (for teaching) or current te reo Māori study (for conversation facilitation)
• Confidence facilitating a group activity
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

You might be a great fit if you are:
• Passionate about te reo Māori and its place in community
• Patient, encouraging, and inclusive
• Happy to collaborate with staff to design and lead sessions

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
