Blind Low Vision NZ is looking for volunteers to support members with accessible and assistive technology as requests come in.

Blind Low Vision NZ provides emotional and practical support so that people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision can keep working and living independently.

What you'll do:
- Support members with setting up technology such as Alexas and DaisyPlayers
- Teach members how to access the BLVNZ Accessible Library using Alexa, the EasyReader App, Envoy Connect and/or DaisyPlayer
- Provide patient, step-by-step guidance so members can enjoy using their technology independently

What you'll bring:
- Experience using or an interest in learning about assistive technology is desirable

You might be a great fit if you are:
- Friendly, patient, organised and reliable
- Comfortable assisting people with low/no vision

Days, Hours: Flexible.

Training Provided: Assistive Technology Training, Health and Safety for Volunteers, Etiquette and Challenging Assumptions Relating to Blindness and Low Vision, Human Guiding, Introduction to The Eye and Eye Conditions, Introduction to Blind Low Vision NZ & Our Mission and Values, Creating Accessible Documents.

Perks: Volunteers get an Amazon Echo Dot to train on, which is yours to keep after 6 months of volunteering.
