Manawa Karioi Society Incorporated has been restoring a 20-acre block of land in the heart of Wellington since 1990, transforming gorse and grassland into thriving regenerating native bush. Maintaining accessible walking tracks through this recovering ecosystem is essential to connecting people with nature in their own city.

This volunteer opportunity involves helping maintain walking tracks through the Manawa Karioi bush under supervision, including re-benching tracks and cutting back encroaching vegetation. Hours are flexible and arranged to suit the volunteer.

What you'll bring:
• Physical fitness for outdoor track work
• Willingness to use hand tools under guidance
• Reliability and enthusiasm for environmental restoration

You might be a great fit if you are:
• Outdoorsy, practical, and motivated by ecological restoration
• Happy to do hands-on, physical work in a beautiful natural setting
• Interested in learning about native bush recovery

Training Provided: Supervision and guidance provided on-site.
