At Land Information Freehold Education (LIFE) Trust (Charitable Trust Registration: CC6335), we use Toi Whakapapa and personal stories — memories, art, family trees, parents’ homes, kitchens, backyards and letterboxes — to secure tino rangatiratanga (self-determination).

The Toi Whakapapa programme uses personal stories told through art, family trees and memories to help rangatahi explore their connection to whakapapa and whenua. Voice acting brings these animated stories to life and is central to making the learning engaging.

We are currently seeking a Voice Actor to record voiceover and narration for a set of finished 2D animated educational videos used in both in-person and online learning.

Tasks include:

• Recording voiceover and narration from final scripts and storyboards
• Reviewing scripts
• Recording rough voice passes for feedback
• Having all te reo Māori content approved by the LIFE Trust team before final delivery

Special Skills Required:

• Voice acting, performance or strong narration skills
• Clear, confident vocal delivery across different character types
• Willingness to have te reo Māori pronunciation guided and approved by the Trust
• Confidence with common business technology, such as email, online meeting platforms and document sharing
• Comfort working in New Zealand workplace and community settings, with an awareness of Te ao Māori and local cultural and social practices

Expected Personality: Creative, patient and detail-focused. Collaborative and responsive to direction. Connected to the purpose of whānau and whakapapa.

Days, Hours for Role: Wednesdays from 11:00 to 1:00, with additional independent work time. This role runs for several months, for the length of the initiative.
