Blind Low Vision NZ provides emotional and practical support so that people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision can keep working and living independently. Members in the Wairarapa rely on volunteer drivers to stay connected to their regular activities and social events

This volunteer opportunity involves driving members to and from bi-weekly Indoor Bowls in Greytown and/or a monthly social group alternating between Carterton and Masterton, with flexibility to help on other days when needed. Time commitment depends on the activity but will typically be two Monday mornings a month and/or one Thursday or Friday morning a month. Petrol is reimbursed at $0.79 per km, with full training and ongoing support from the BLVNZ team provided.

What you'll bring:
• A full, clean driver's licence
• Willingness to complete BLVNZ's registration and onboarding process as well as training in Human Guiding, disability awareness and more.

You might be a great fit if you are:

• Friendly, welcoming, organised, and reliable
• Comfortable assisting people with low or no vision

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
