Young Onset Service Active Brain Group Assistant - Porirua
Porirua
Dementia Wellington's vision is to inspire people to live well with mate wareware (dementia) and remain active, connected, and engaged in their community. With the right support in place, most people with dementia can continue to enjoy life to the full, and the Active Brain and Connection group in Porirua is part of making that possible.
This volunteer opportunity involves supporting the monthly Active Brain and Connection group for people in the very early stages of mate wareware, helping them socialise, enjoy stimulating activities, and stay physically active. Tasks include setting up the room, welcoming and farewelling clients, supporting the Dementia Advisor during the session, encouraging participation, and helping to clear up afterwards. Sessions take place on the last Wednesday of each month from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.
