Blind Low Vision NZ provides emotional and practical support so that people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision can keep working and living independently. Blind Low Vision NZ is looking for a volunteer to help organise the Youth Group, a group for members aged 13–25 which organises monthly events and social activities across the Wellington region.
This volunteer opportunity will involve working alongside BLVNZ volunteers and staff to plan activities each month, admin support, and helping to coordinate the session, all while creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Youth Group takes place on the fourth Saturday of the month (times vary) and volunteers will meet 2-4 times throughout the month to plan the activity and complete admin tasks. Full training and ongoing support from the BLVNZ team provided. Petrol is reimbursed at $0.79 per km (if driving members).
What you'll bring:
• A full, clean driver's licence (if driving members)
• Willingness to complete BLVNZ's registration and onboarding process as well as training in Human Guiding, disability awareness and more
