Nga Hau e Wha o Papararangi (NHEWOP)

Paparārangi Marae aims to promote traditional and contemporary aspects of Maori culture in Newlands and surrounding regions.

Our Mission:

Ngā Hau e Whā o Paparārangi is an urban marae based in Newlands. The centre is used for a variety of community events including kapa haka, and for activities related to the society's planting project. It is a local papakāinga that has a 20yr restoration project of the surrounding native bush which includes arts such as Raranga (weaving), Rongoā (Maori medicine) and Maara kai (Maori food).
