We deliver innovative social and environmental programmes in Te Upoko o Te Ika a Māui, the Wellington Region.
Our Mission:
Sustainability Trust are experts in sustainability, healthy homes, ethical electricity and supporting our local communities. Visiting thousands of homes every year, we give advice and install heat pumps, insulation and EV charging stations. Wrap around support for low-income households includes the Wellington Curtain Bank which supplies upcycled, lined curtains.
Sustainability Trust is also home to Te Aro Zero Waste, a public hub for education, sustainability advice, drop-off of hard to recycle items such as e-waste and much more. Education programmes such as RepairED, provide our communities with ways to take on climate change action and nurture their relationship with Papatūānuku.
Volunteer with us
Hem, line, and alter donated curtains to fit specific homes using machine sewing skills. Flexible hours, home or workshop based.
List curtains on TradeMe for the Curtain Bank, including photographing, writing descriptions, and managing listings. Flexible, remote work.
Support daily Curtain Bank operations including sorting curtains, processing requests, and database management. Flexible hours.
Assess donated curtains at the Sustainability Trust warehouse, measuring and recording details in the database for distribution. Flexible shifts.
Remove old curtain tracks and fit new ones in homes receiving donated curtains from the Wellington Curtain Bank. Own transport, flexible hours.
