St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) has a long history of caring for people in need across New Zealand, and the Lower Hutt Vinnies team runs Community Soup Days to provide hot meals and genuine human connection for vulnerable community members.

This volunteer opportunity involves making a pot of soup at home and dropping it off on Thursdays — to War Memorial Library (11:30am–1:30pm, most of the year) or Walter Nash Library (10:30am–12:30pm, May–August).

What you'll bring:

• Comfort with food preparation and serving

• A warm and non-judgmental manner

• Reliability for soup day shifts

You might be a great fit if you are:

• Caring, practical, and motivated by making a tangible difference

• Genuinely committed to the wellbeing of vulnerable community members

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
