Samaritans of Wellington provides confidential, non-judgmental, and non-religious emotional support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Wellington Courtenay Place centre gives people a safe space to talk when they need it most, and volunteer Telephone Listeners make that possible.
This volunteer opportunity involves answering calls at the Wellington Samaritans centre, listening without judgment and providing calm, compassionate support to callers. Volunteers commit to one three-hour shift per week and attend monthly support meetings. Full training, supervision, and ongoing support are provided throughout.
