From our earliest days adapting to our geography and setting up NZ's first Kohanga Reo, to setting global time standards and community-led housing partnerships homing those in need. In everything we do, we're led by our values of Manaakitanga, Kotahitanga and Rangatiratanga and our partnership with Mana Whenua.
Volunteer with us
Support Maungaraki Community Library with shelving, tidying, and customer interaction. Weekday and Saturday shifts available.
Conduct day and night community safety patrols across Lower Hutt in a supplied patrol vehicle. Must be 25+, police vetted.
Share your skill in music, art, sport, or another interest with Lower Hutt community members. Fully flexible time commitment.
Lead te reo Māori classes or conversation groups in Lower Hutt. Open to fluent speakers and current learners alike. Flexible timing.
Weeding and mulching along the Waiwhetu Stream in Lower Hutt to support native restoration. Wednesdays, with flexible group options.
Plant native species for dune restoration at Petone Beach. Sessions on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 9 am.
Environmental restoration at Waiu Wetland in Wainuiomata including gorse removal, planting, and fitting plant protectors. Monthly sessions.
