Zealandia (Karori Sanctuary Trust)

Connecting people with our unique natural heritage, and inspires actions that transform how people live with nature in our cities, towns and beyond.

Our Mission:

Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne is managed by Karori Sanctuary Trust, a not-for-profit community-led organisation with charitable status. The Trust’s official vision is to be a world-class conservation site that captures people’s imagination, understanding and commitment and encourages them to protect our natural heritage. Supported by more than 500 volunteers, Zealandia is an example of how community involvement improves social cohesion, mental health, and wellbeing.
