Your shortlist
Hands-on urban farm work at Kaicycle in Wellington including planting, composting, and weeding. Tue/Fri mornings, Thu evenings.
Walk a section of Zealandia’s predator-exclusion fence regularly, checking for biosecurity issues and submitting reports. 6-month commitment.
Keep grass low along Zealandia’s perimeter using scrub cutters with the weekly team. Sundays 9 am – 1 pm.
Join weekend conservation and trail work parties at Makara Peak. Tools, kai, and drinks provided. No experience or registration needed.

Tree care
Help with tree release, weeding, and planting to support native bush regeneration at Matairangi (Mount Victoria). ~2 hour flexible sessions.
Repair and paint donated bikes at the Green Bikes workshop in Porirua, making them roadworthy. Fridays, 10 am – 3 pm.

Bush Restoration
Join regular bush restoration sessions at Trelissick Park, including weeding, planting native species, and bush maintenance. No experience needed.
Adopt a section of Trelissick Park and visit regularly to weed, plant, and maintain it. Entirely flexible timing, ideal for individuals or families.
Join Forest and Bird Wellington planting and weeding sessions in reserves across the region. Weekend mornings, no experience needed.
Helps restore and maintain native plants in public-facing spaces throughout the Zealandia's sanctuary, ensuring these areas remain welcoming and vibrant for visitors.
