About Volunteer Hutt | Te Awa Kairangi
As the only organisation in the Hutt Valley dedicated to both volunteerism and community sector development, Volunteer Hutt works alongside local groups to build stronger, more connected communities.
Led by Marcia Skinnon as a Kaupapa Māori organisation, Volunteer Hutt is committed to creating culturally safe and inclusive spaces that honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The exploration of tūao is central to our mahi, informing the way we support organisations, foster partnerships, and celebrate the contributions of tangata whenua and volunteers alike.
Through volunteer recruitment, professional development, organisational support, and community advocacy, we help local organisations thrive. Initiatives such as Te Aka Tūao demonstrate our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and strengthening community engagement across the Hutt Valley.

Summary: Help Upper Hutt Repair Cafe Trust stay organised behind the scenes — preparing agendas, taking minutes, and keeping records in order to support the committee and volunteers running their free repair events.
Help Upper Hutt Repair Cafe Trust tell their story and promote their mission through social media, newsletters, and community communications — approx. 10 hours per month, fully remote.
Mentor former refugees in Lower Hutt to develop driving skills and gain their licence. Flexible hours, must be 21+ with full licence.
Take a woman from a refugee background for twice-weekly driving practice in Lower Hutt. Female volunteers required.
Sort donated baby clothing, check quality, and prepare items for families in need at Greenstone Doors in Upper Hutt. Flexible hours.

Graphic Designer
Produce graphic design content for print, web, and social media for Men and Trauma NZ. At least 4 hours per week, do-anywhere flexibility.
Support the weekly vegetable co-op at Greenstone Doors in Upper Hutt, receiving, sorting, packing, and distributing fresh produce.
Assist at community events and fundraising activities for Greenstone Doors in Upper Hutt. Weekends or after hours, no experience needed.
